About the Business
I am Emma Cleverley, the owner of Emma Cleverley Designs. I live in Swansea with my husband and our two children; Dylan who is 3 and Jessica who is 1. I first got into making jewellery in June 2012; my husband and I were in the middle of planning our wedding, and I was making as many of the decorations as I could to make it as personal as possible. I was struggling to find matching necklaces for my 5 bridesmaids. So thought, why not make them too? I had a choker that my Mum had left to me, so I ordered 5 necklaces, and a small silver charm in each of the bridesmaid's initials.
I then used a link from my mum's necklace to join the two together. And I still had the remaining part of my Mums necklace to make myself a bracelet. After our Wedding, I found that I had a lot of spare time on my hands as I had no more planning to organise! So this felt like the perfect time to try to set up a small business making jewellery. To start, I set up an Etsy shop and a Facebook page.
