About the Business
Tucked away on Turl Street, the historic heart of Oxford, is one of the city's oldest established jewellers. Since 1797 Rowell has served jewellery to both town and gown. It has produced gew' gaws for royalty, a casket for the Marques of Butte, a tea set for Clement Attlee and regalia for the lord mayors. Step back in time as you enter the shop with its Victorian display cabinets where you will find a selection of new and antique silverware, clocks and barometers.
Rowell design and commission many pieces exclusively for the shop. We love the exotic and unusual colours of star sapphires and star rubies. Our gems are brought from all over the world to create a stunning and diverse selection. This year, we have added Murano glass jewellery and funky gents pieces in steel and silver. Our diamond collection has been noted for many years. We mount in yellow gold, white gold, pink gold and platinum, making chosing a piece a personal and pleasant experience.
