About the Business
Gould's Jewellers was Established in 1963 by Bob and Maureen Gould. Bob worked on optical equipment in the Naval Dockyard Portsmouth and studied Horology at evening classes before opening the shop. Bob continued to work in the dockyard and repair watches and jewellery in the evenings whilst Maureen ran the shop during the day. I was born in 1964 in the flat above the shop and my brother Glenn 2 years later. We four formed a partnership in 1991 and Bob retired along with Maureen in 1999 leaving 2 shops and a repair workshop. Since then we have opened another branch in Portsmouth. We now service the local community for watch and jewellery repairs as well as selling jewellery clocks watches and giftware. We also have a thriving trade repair service collecting and delivering watch and jewellery repairs to other local independent jewellers.
