About the Business
John & Katia, formerly an accountant and an aeronautical engineer, have always travelled with their work. However, they found themselves flabbergasted by the contrast between the increasingly uniform and disposable offerings of the high street, and the timeless and cherishable treasures that are still made in every corner of the world. Exquisite crafts dating back centuries, as well as skills and arts that were developed to titillate Tsars and Maharajas, are still practised but are almost invisible amongst the "mass-produced".
So, excited and a little scared, they resolved to bring back some of these treasures and make them available to others. Starting with places that they had previously visited, but this time straying further off the beaten track, they carefully selected the beautiful, the rare and the fascinating and brought them home. And so Drift was launched!
