About the Business
A1Jewellers shares the heritage from a family of jewellers from over half a century ago. It all started around 1950 in Meerak, a village nearly 100 miles from Lahore the capital of Punjab province in Pakistan. Mian Ghulam Rasool the eldest son of Mian Siraaj-Ul-Haq started working as an apprentice with a skilled goldsmith who are locally known as "Sunaar" and were the economists of that time, investment bankers or saving bankers. People used to buy gold or leave their gold and money with these craftsmen and use it whenever they would need. Huge piles of books known as "Wahi", a logbook of customers were kept for every surrounding village.
After a while Mian Ghulam Rasool started his own small jewellery workshop in his village Meerak and his younger brothers Mian Ghulam Mustafa and Mian Bashir-Ul-Haq joined him and started learning the craft. Soon the trio were running a flourishing jewellery business.
